Adult Competency & Suitability Assessments
To apply for membership, call 08 9321 2814 during normal office hours or complete our on-line Youth Membership Registration Form.
The Scouts Association undertakes compulsory competency and suitability assessments on all applicants for adult membership to assess their suitability to be involved with children, previous criminal history, personal character, skills and capabilities, their ability to work within a team environment and their commitment to the Aims & Principles of Scouting.
As part of this competency assessment all adults are required to;

Provide a current Federal Police Clearance

Provide the names, addresses of three referees.

Read and sign our Code of Conduct and Mutual Agreement

Be assessed by the Group Leader, in consultation with other Leaders within the Scout Group, as to the applicant’s capabilities, commitment, suitability and acceptance of the Aims & Principles of Scouting.
Before the applicants’ paperwork is forwarded to the WA Branch office for processing each District is required to interview applicants in person, covering all the points above.
